10:15 AM – KEYNOTE PRESENTATION - EXPANDING SERVICES & VALUE TO YOUR CLIENTS: CONNECTING THE IN-PLANT MARKETING GAP"

In this session, we will discuss the trends, methods and considerations when transforming your facility to provide new value added services surrounding the areas of Social Media, Direct Mail and Targeted Marketing. The impact of providing such services to your corporation can be significant, but setting the proper internal and external expectations is critical. We will discuss the challenges and successes that you need to be aware of to build a solid relationship and reputation as a problem solver to your marketing department.

Barbara Stainbrook serves as the Senior Vice President of Production Print Sales and Partnership Alliances for Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. Under Stainbrook’s leadership Konica Minolta's sales organization has achieved significant production print market growth, record sales and customer satisfaction levels. Stainbrook led the development of Konica Minolta’s highly successful production print customer centric sales process with each step designed to bring unparalleled value to customers and prospects. Stainbrook believes that the sales process is more than about awards winning solutions and technology, but about becoming a trusted business advisor to customers. She has worked extensively with field sales to share best practices, innovative solutions for customers, and marketing solutions for in-plant customers. During her 20+ year production print career, she has won several national performance awards and spoken at numerous industry events on production print. Stainbrook holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Miami University of Ohio, and currently lives in Florida.  

In September, it was announced that Ms. Stainbrook was selected to win the 2013 Women of Distinction in Printing award. The annual Women of Distinction Awards celebrate the numerous achievements of exceptional women – from around the globe – in the document communications, graphic arts and high volume transaction output industries. OutputLinks Communications Group, a growing set of global business divisions in the corporate communication ecosphere, presents the awards annually.

11:15 AM - EDUCATIONAL SESSION - “CUSTOMER SERVICE THE WHOLE PACKAGE”

Richard Silver, Print Services Coordinator, George Fox University

 Richard Silver is the Print Services Coordinator at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Every day Richard is on the front line interacting with students, faculty and staff where he prepares their projects for printing. Customer Service is his top priority and he will stop at nothing to make sure the customer is properly being taken care of. In today's economy, customer service is one of the driving forces that is keeping companies alive. What does customer service look like? How is customer service best achieved? And what does it mean to get the "whole package"?  With over 20 years of being in customer service, Richard has the edge on how to achieve these goals. Come hear Richard's testimonial of how he saved a division of his company from extinction.

Richard is married with 2 children, loves aviation, graphic design, music, cooking, disc golf and of course his Corvette.

As we break for lunch this is a perfect chance to ask questions and network with your peers.  During this time IPMA Board Member will introduce to you what IPMA is all about and how IPMA can be your missing piece of the puzzle for your in-plant.  For current members you'll see what is new and non-members will have the chance to see how IPMA is here to help.

1:00 PM - EDUCATIONAL SESSION - “HOW TO WRITE A SUCCESSFUL CAPITAL JUSTIFICATION PROPOSAL"

JERRY HILL, State of California Printer, Department of General Services, Office of State Publishing

Jerry Hill is a native Californian.  His printing career had begun under the tutelage (wing) of his father Jim Hill.  Working at his family’s business, Hill’s Printing. Jerry earned the rank of Journeyman Press Operator in L.A. local 78 printing union after completion of High School.

In the late 60s Jerry completed his education at Los Angeles Technical College in Printing Management.  After the sell of his father’s business Jerry started his own business Miracle Press and Amigo Publications in 1972 specializing in short run color printing and publications.

Jerry moved from Southern California to Northern California in the late 70s to become a High School and Community College Instructor in Graphic Communications at Ukiah High School, Mendocino Community College and later at both Laney College and Mission College in Santa Clara.  During this same time Jerry continued his education at San Francisco State College with a major in Vocational Education.  Jerry continued teaching part-time in the Community College District until the late 90s.

Jerry’s working career progressed through the following positions: Senior Sales Account Executive, Director of Sales, National Account Sales Manager, General Manager, Chief Operations Officer, President and Principle Owner. He supported such notable Regional and National Corporations as K/P Graphics Corporation, Pizzaz Printing and Publishing, Smith Erickson Advertising, Western Publishing (Golden Books), UARCO Business Forms, Mail Well (Cenveo), Anderson Lithograph and Consolidated Graphics.

In the 2000s Jerry started Hill’s Consulting. He worked at times with Deloitte Consulting on a number of Regional and National projects leading to his present employment by the State of California. Since 2006 Jerry has worked as the Communications Manager for Department of Justice Office of Attorney General and in 2012 was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the position of California State Printer.

Jerry’s commitment to sharing, leading and helping others has gone beyond work and includes serving his community.  He has been active in the YMCA, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Church outreach programs like Living Waters International and was appointed to the position of Park and Recreation Commissioner for the City of Sunnyvale.

Outside of work responsibilities, Jerry pursued his hobbies of golf and endurance sports completing numerous marathons and tri-athlons including finishing the Western States 100 Mile endurance run.  This father of three, grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of one leads an active positive life and thanks God for his blessings and the many relationships he has made over the years.

Walk thru UC Davis Repro Graphics Print Shop and see the unique items they deal with on a day to day basis. 


3:00 PM - DRAWINGS/REFRESHMENTS

The meeting will end upon conclusion of the printing tour. But before you leave, we'll send you home with lots of goodies, refreshments and at this time we will do our Grand Prize Drawing for TWO $50 Gift Cards.
